we empower students to be self-advocates and to proactively discuss the specific nature of their disabilities and needs with their professors. students who qualify may receive accommodations such as note-taking support, extended time on exams, the use of kurzweil for exams and reading assignments, and other support services. no qualified student with a disability shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination regarding any university program or activity.
reasonable accommodations are provided in accordance with section 504 of the rehabilitation act of 1973, the americans with disabilities act of 1990, and the adaaa of 2008. current and valid documentation of disability, including functional limitations and the impact of disability on academic performance, is required.

as a supplement to regular class work, students may elect to gain additional assistance through working with trained, faculty-recommended peer tutors. peer tutors help students better comprehend course content, prepare for exams, and develop more efficient study strategies. peer tutoring is free to all students.
peer tutoring during remote instruction
with our recent switch to online learning, peer tutoring is still in operation. our tutors are meeting with their assigned students via video chat, we are still accepting and processing new tutor requests. therefore, feel free to request a peer tutor for any course where you could use some extra help.
please fill out one of these forms for each class in which you would like a tutor.
request a peer tutor
please note the following:
- it can take a processing time of approximately a week after you complete the request. we appreciate your patience!
- if you request a peer tutor and then withdraw from that course or determine that you no longer need a peer tutor, please let us know – especially if you haven’t yet been assigned a tutor.
- we do not provide peer tutors for upper-level classes in a major or minor (courses typically taken in the junior or senior year of major/minor coursework). you may request peer tutors for core requirements taken in the junior or senior year, though availability of tutors in these courses is somewhat limited.
please also review the peer tutoring contract. do not fill this part out right now, but simply read through it so that you know what you are agreeing to do before you complete your peer tutoring request form.
If you have any questions about peer tutoring, please contact Associate Director of Learning & Success kristin sites at email@example.com.
